CASTING SESSION ANNOUNCED!

I've set a date of Wednesday 23rd June for an open casting session for three characters

MOTHER (AMY): (30's)
Amy is living her nightmare. Her husband (Derek) has left her, she is unemployed and struggling. They had fought a lot since he lost his job, but she never thought he would leave. She retreats into her shell, not wishing to deal with reality. She pushes her children away, unable to deal with any emotion.

FATHER (DEREK) : (30's)
Declan has had enough. He feels limp enough having lost his long term job and finds it difficult to stay at home, retreating instead to the bookies. When he's at home he feels lost. This is a small but powerful role, only being seen once in a non-verbal but very emotional scene.

POSTMAN: (50's)
The thrust of the story is the kids order a present for their mother to cheer her up and wait patiently every day for it to arrive. When it finally does arrive, they have a moment asking the postman to whisper so as not to alert their mother.
He is kind, genial, friendly and patient with them.

The casting session will take place on WEDNESDAY MORNING from 11am until 3 pm (tbc) at Doyle's Bar, opposite Trinity.

Please email me first to arrange a time. Please note I'll be running a video camera at the session for my own records.

My email address is mairtin@smilingsadly.com
